Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Tony and Emmy award-winning actress Bebe Neuwirth has confirmed she will not return to the CBS drama Madam Secretary.

"So grateful for my time @MadamSecretary - a wonderful show where I love the cast, crew, background artists. #lifelongfriends," Neuwirth tweeted.

"So grateful to @CBS for accepting my request to depart @MadamSecretary and writing a beautiful exit for me. #IllmissNadine," she added.

"So grateful for everyone's support & good wishes here in Twitterland," she concluded.

The 58-year-old actress did not say what is next for her.
