CBS orders second season of asteroid thriller 'Salvation'

Oct. 18 (UPI) -- CBS says it has renewed for a second season Salvation, a sci-fi thriller starring Santiago Cabrera, Jennifer Finnigan, Charlie Rowe and Ian Anthony Dale.

Thirteen fresh episodes are to air during the summer of 2018.

The show follows a brilliant MIT grad student, a tech superstar and various government officials as they try to save the world from both a cataclysmic collision with an asteroid and a possible nuclear war.
