Shemar Moore returning to 'Criminal Minds' for guest spot

Oct. 12 (UPI) -- S.W.A.T. actor Shamar Moore is to return to his former drama Criminal Minds for a guest spot, CBS announced Thursday.

Moore will appear in Season 13's fifth episode Oct. 25. He will return as Derek Morgan, the character he played on Criminal Minds 2005-16.

"In the episode, Morgan returns to the BAU to help Penelope Garcia [played by Kirsten Vangsness] deal with a case that has affected her emotionally," a network press release said.

The show's ensemble includes Joe Mantegna, Paget Brewster, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez and Daniel Henney.
