Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Fox set a premiere date this week for its live musical rendition of Rent.

The network pushed back its live production of the Tony-winning musical to January 2019, according to Deadline. The special will now air Sunday, Jan. 27.

Fox said additional details, including the cast and crew, will be announced later. Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, Julie Larson, Al Larson, Vince Totino, Scott Heming and Marla Levine will serve as executive producers.

Entertainment Weekly reported Fox chairman Dana Walden initially said at the Television Critics Association press tour in August that Rent would air in late 2018. He explained Platt was focused on Fox's production of A Christmas Story.

"It's a big production to mount," Walden said of Rent. "[Marc's] been working with Julie, and they've had some preliminary conversations, but haven't gone out to any talent yet. Actually, we'll probably think first about a director."

Rent, which is based on the Giacomo Puccini opera La Bohème, was written by late composer Jonathan Larson. The musical was previously adapted as a 2005 film starring Anthony Rapp, Adam Pascal, Rosario Dawson, Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs.
