Sept. 19 (UPI) -- WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and his rival Braun Strowman got into a war of words Monday on Raw ahead of their match Sunday at No Mercy.

The two behemoths explained in their own words why they will be crowned the victor Sunday during a tense interview segment that was conducted by announcer Michael Cole.

Strowman, confident with how he has been able to dominate Lesnar since their meeting inside a Fatal 4-Way match at SummerSlam, said he feels like he will be the one to finally strip The Beast of his Universal Championship.

"I'm the monster and I'm the only man capable of putting Brock Lesnar down for good!" Strowman said. Lesnar, who was joined by Paul Heyman, allowed his advocate to speak on his behalf first before he got close to the camera to address Strowman directly.

"I want to thank you for backing me into this corner, challenging me...It's when I'm at my best!" Lesnar said. Strowman later on in the night attacked Enzo Amore to further send a message to Lesnar.

Also on Raw, Roman Reigns entered the ring to berate his No Mercy opponent John Cena and to point out how the WWE mainstay was absent Monday due to his flourishing career outside of the company.

"John Cena is the biggest hypocrite to ever step foot in a WWE ring," the Big Dog said as he shared footage from 2012 of Cena verbally attacking Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson for being absent due to his Hollywood career.

"I'll see you Sunday, movie star," Reigns said in conclusion.

Other moments from Raw included Nia Jax defeating Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss in a non-title match before Bayley returned from injury and was announced to be taking part in the Women's title match at No Mercy; Cesaro and Sheamus defeated Raw Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson; Apollo Crews defeated Curt Hawkins to hand Hawkins his 115th consecutive defeat; Bray Wyatt defeated Dustin Rhodes who competed without his Goldust makeup; Cruiserweight Champion Neville defeated Gran Metalik; and Jason Jordan defeated The Hardy Boyz, Elias and The Miztourage consisting of Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas in a Six-Pack Challenge to become the No. 1 contender to The Miz's Intercontinental Championship.
