Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Jack Whitehall, Michael McKean and Miranda Richardson have signed up for roles in Amazon and the BBC's Good Omens fantasy drama.

Neil Gaiman penned and will act as showrunner for the six-part television adaptation of the book he wrote with the late Terry Pratchett. Set to debut in 2019, the miniseries will star David Tennant and Michael Sheen.

"I feel extraordinarily privileged to have been asked to play this part and cannot wait to get started," Whitehall said in a statement.

"I'm thrilled to join this amazing cast and creative team. I can't think of anyone I'd rather enjoy Armageddon with than Gaiman, Pratchett, [director Douglas] Mackinnon and company," McKean added.
