Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Amazon Studios says it has ordered a fifth season of Transparent, starring Jeffrey Tambor and Judith Light.

Fresh episodes of creator Jill Soloway's Emmy Award-winning dramedy are to be filmed next year. All members of the main cast, including Gaby Hoffmann, Jay Duplass and Amy Landecker, are expected to return.

Andrea Sperling will continue as executive producer alongside Soloway. The show follows a family adjusting to life after its patriarch comes out as transgender in his 60s.

"Over the past few seasons the Pfeffermans have gone across the world, back in time and made many, many trips to the deli," Joe Lewis, head of comedy, drama and virtual reality for Amazon Studios, said in a statement Thursday. "We're so excited to see what magic Jill and the incredible team bring to this always groundbreaking series in Season 5."

"We are extremely grateful to Amazon Studios for their continued trust and support and to our audience for their warm embrace of the Pfeffermans. We look forward to another season of comedy and drama, love and weirdness, God and sex -- in the service of community and in pursuit of peace, joy, freedom and human rights for all," Soloway added.
