Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Downton Abbey alum Siobhan Finneran has joined the Season 7 ensemble of the British dramedy, Cold Feet.

"Finneran plays Nikki Kirkbright, a Cheshire housewife that seems to have it all -- money, big house and big hair. But something isn't quite right," a news release from ITV noted. "David [played by Robert Bathhurst] meets Nikki through his career in personal finance and the two soon develop a close bond."

"I'm incredibly happy to be involved in Cold Feet as I've always been a fan. It's an absolute joy to be part of such a iconic series. Working with Robert and the rest of the cast has been a great pleasure," Finneran -- who played the maid O'Brien on Downton Abbey -- said in a statement.

The show returned for a sixth season last September after a 13-year absence. It was met with high ratings, excellent reviews and enthusiasm on social media, and quickly renewed for a seventh season, which will begin airing next month. Written and created by Mike Bullen, the series stars James Nesbitt, Hermione Norris, Robert Bathurst, John Thomson and Fay Ripley.
