Aug. 12 (UPI) -- William deVry, who plays Julian Jerome, has signed a new deal and will remain on General Hospital.

"Great news-just in time for the weekend!! Will DeVry is staying in Port Charles. Deets to follow #Julian #GH," the ABC daytime drama's executive producer Frank Valentini said on Twitter Friday.

"Thanks 2 fans 4 ur help/support/love! Was always confidant, but took awhile eh?" the actor tweeted.

SoapCentral.com said deVry last filmed scenes in late June, and he and the producers have since been negotiating the terms of his possible future on the show. The new deal followed a fan campaign to keep DeVry's Julian making mischief in the fictional, upstate New York suburb.
