Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Audra McDonald is to once again play U.S. attorney Liz Lawrence, her character from The Good Wife, during Season 2 of the legal drama's spinoff, The Good Fight.

The CBS All Access show is to return with fresh episodes in 2018. The series stars Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, Rose Leslie, Sarah Steele and Justin Bartha.

During the upcoming season, it will be revealed Lawrence is the ex-wife of Delroy Lindo's character, Adrian Boseman.

"We're thrilled that Audra McDonald will return to the fictional Chicago of The Good Fight," executive producers Robert and Michelle King said in a statement. "After seeing her facility with both comedy and drama, we were dying for the chance to work with her again. Audra brings intelligence, strength, and wit to Liz Lawrence, the character she developed in the fourth season of The Good Wife."

McDonald is the winner of six Tony Awards, making her the most decorated performer in Broadway history. Her small-screen credits include The Sound of Music Live! and Private Practice, and she recently played a supporting role in Disney's live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast.
