Kit Harington and Rose Leslie 'not engaged,' says rep

July 21 (UPI) -- Celebrity couple Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are "not engaged."

The 30-year-old actor's rep denied Friday in a statement to Metro that Harington proposed to Leslie, his girlfriend and former co-star.

"They are not engaged," the rep said.

Life & Style had reported Thursday that Harington recently popped the question during a night at home.

"Kit recently cooked Rose a romantic candlelight dinner and proposed to her," a source said. "She burst into tears and immediately said yes!"

"[Rose] wants the wedding to be held [in Scotland]," the person added. "They aren't into the whole Hollywood scene at all."

Harington and Leslie co-starred as Jon Snow and Ygritte in Seasons 2, 3 and 4 of Game of Thrones. The actor, who still stars on the show, recently told news.com.au that meeting Leslie was the "greatest gift" of the series.

"Thrones has been with me throughout all of my 20s," he said while discussing the drama's impending end. "It's been a journey, a strange journey."

"I met my girlfriend on the show and that has been the greatest gift of all," the star gushed.

Harington and Leslie were spotted holding hands as they arrived in Capri, Italy, on Thursday. Game of Thrones, which co-stars Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey and Sophie Turner, returned for a seventh season last week.
