July 14 (UPI) -- Former Friday Night Lights star Scott Porter is expecting a daughter.
The 38-year-old actor announced wife Kelsey Porter is pregnant with a baby girl by sharing a cheerleader-themed post Thursday on Instagram.
"Our baby girl is going to have a tough time deciding who to cheer for...but we'll love her no matter what school she chooses...right, @kiwiporter?" he captioned a photo of two tiny cheerleader uniforms -- one for the Texas Longhorns and one for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Porter was born in Omaha, Neb., while Kelsey was on the cheerleading team during her time at the University of Texas. The couple married in 2013, and welcomed their first child, son McCoy, in May 2015.
"Toddler snuggles with a baby belly," Kelsey captioned a picture Wednesday of McCoy cuddling up to her baby bump.
Porter and Kelsey announced in April that they're expecting again. The couple previously told People they used in vitro fertilization to conceive McCoy because Kelsey is diagnosed with Huntington's disease.
"She figured out how we could have a child without passing Huntington's down," Porter said after McCoy's birth.
"Because I have Huntington's any child we have has 50/50 change of having it, so to eliminate that, we did in vitro fertilization," Kelsey explained. "We did preimplantation genetic diagnosis ... They tested all our embryos for Huntington's."
Porter is known for playing Jason Street on Friday Night Lights and George Tucker on Hart of Dixie. He will next star in the movie Brampton's Own with Rose McIver.
