Anna Friel starts work on Season 2 of 'Marcella'

July 9 (UPI) -- Filming has begun on Season 2 of Marcella, ITV's crime drama starring Anna Friel.

Written by Hans Rosenfeldt and set in contemporary England, the show also features Ray Panthaki, Nicholas Pinnock, Jamie Bamber and Jack Doolan.

"I'm thrilled to be reprising the role of Marcella and want to thank ITV for re-commissioning this powerful, London-based, noir drama. The reaction from everyone has been amazing, although the real question I keep being asked is whether the green parka will be making an appearance in Season 2 as well?" Friel said in a statement.
