June 27 (UPI) -- Sissy Spacek and Jane Levy are to star in Castle Rock, a psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Hulu announced.

Spacek -- who headlined the 1976 film adaptation of King's classic novel Carrie -- will play Ruth Deaver, "estranged, adoptive mother of Henry [played by Andre Holland,] a retired professor whose fading memories may hold a key to Castle Rock's unsettling past," a press release noted.

Levy will play Jackie, "the death-obsessed, self-appointed historian of Castle Rock."

Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason developed the series and are serving as executive producers, along with J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson and Liz Glotzer.
