Ripa confirmed on Cohen's show, Watch What Happens Live, in December that Cooper was her No. 1 choice to replace Michael Strahan as her co-host on Live. Ryan Seacrest instead joined the talk show in May.

"He's my life. He really is," Ripa said of Cooper. "He's the one that got away and keeps getting away and gets away all the time."

Cooper hosts Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN.
