May 26 (UPI) -- Sophia Bush is departing NBC police drama Chicago P.D. after starring on the series for four seasons.

The female lead on the show, Bush's departure comes after her character, Detective Erin Lindsay, was last seen deciding whether or not to accept a job offer with the FBI in New York during the Season 4 finale.

The 34-year-old One Tree Hill alum may return in a guest-starring role in order to wrap up her character's story arc, Deadline reported.

Recently, Chicago P.D. series regular Jon Seda exited the procedural drama to join Chicago Justice alongside co-creator and showrunner Matt Olmstead who left NBC for a new deal with ABC Studios. Executive producers Michael Brandt and Mark Tinker have also left following the end of Season 4.

Law and Order: SVU showrunner Rick Eid is set to take over Chicago P.D. when it returns for Season 5.
