Moore leads the cast as a police sergeant "newly tasked to run a specialized, tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles," press notes said.

"Torn between loyalty to the streets where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, former Marine Daniel 'Hondo' Harrelson has everything it takes to successfully bridge the divide between his two worlds and excel at leading his dedicated team of brave men and women as they risk their lives to protect the community."

"BabyGirls, FANS, n Homies..... Are you ready for @SWATCBS ??? Airing this fall on Thursdays 10/9c !!!! #SWAT #CBS #Upfront #Upfronts," Moore said in an Instagram post, which accompanied a photo of him wearing tactical gear.

The show is based on a 2003 film starring Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Farrell, and a television series, which ran two seasons in the 1970s and starred Steve Forrest, Robert Urich and Rod Perry.
