May 12 (UPI) -- Hoda Kotb's daughter made her TV debut during a surprise appearance Friday on Today.

The 52-year-old television personality brought 3-month-old Haley Joy to visit Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Carson Daly on the NBC morning show ahead of Mother's Day.

"Can I just say something? I'm holding my baby on Mother's Day weekend," she gushed to her co-hosts. "Oh my God, I'm so happy."

Kotb returned to Today in April after adopting Haley Joy in February. She shared the story of her daughter's top-secret adoption during her first day back on the show April 17.

"I started the application process in the fall and they said, 'We can't make any promises,'" the star told E! News. "I lived my life, but in my journal I scribbled every night, 'Please God, if you can.'"

Kotb ultimately got the call from her adoption agency.

"The woman on the other end said, 'She's here.' Like, that's all. 'She's here.' And that was it. And everything changed," she recalled on the episode.

Kotb previously introduced Haley Joy to Lauer and fellow co-host Katie Lee Gifford in March. Gifford was moved to tears in February after hearing Kotb's baby news, saying, "We're so happy to see something so wonderful happen to you because you deserve it."
