WWE Raw: Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, The Miz battle, Alexa Bliss shows off

May 2 (UPI) -- Seth Rollins, Finn Balor and The Miz battled in a Triple Threat Match Monday on Raw to crown a new No. 1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship.

The main event of the night, the match was made to determine a new opponent for Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose after The Lunatic Fringe interrupted Rollins and Balor as they discussed who should get to face Brock Lesnar in the future for the Universal Championship.

Declaring his belt the top prize on Raw, Ambrose stated that he would be happy to defend his title against either Rollins or Balor before The Miz entered the ring, upset that he was being kept away from the championship that he held onto throughout 2016.

The ensuing match featured a number of near-falls as each Superstar put everything on the line for a chance to compete for championship gold. As Rollins gained controlled, his rival, Samoa Joe, emerged and attacked The Architect outside the ring with a devastating Uranage.

With Rollins out of the equation, Balor began attacking The Miz but before he could secure a victory, he was ambushed by Bray Wyatt who laid out The Demon King with Sister Abigail. The Miz then pinned Balor for the three count as his wife, Maryse, celebrated.

Also on Raw, new Women's Champion Alexa Bliss held a championship coronation ceremony following her victory over former champion Bayley at WWE Payback.

Standing in the middle of the ring atop a podium, Bliss addressed the entire Raw Women's division including Mickie James, Dana Brooke, Emma, Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, Alicia Fox and Bayley by declaring herself the new "goddess" of the WWE.

As tensions mounted, a fight broke out during the ceremony which lead to an Eight-Woman Tag Team Match that featured Bliss teaming up with Jax, Fox and Emma to take on Bayley, Banks, James and Brooke. The match ended with Bliss pinning Bayley for the second night in a row following a DDT.

Other moments from Raw included Luke Gallows defeating Enzo Amore; Gentleman Jack Gallagher, Rich Swan and Akira Tozawa defeating The Brian Kendrick, Noam Dar and Tony Nese; Raw Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz confronting Cesaro and Sheamus; Apollo Crews defeating Heath Slater; Austin Aries defeating TJP; and Wyatt introducing himself to Raw General Manager Kurt Angle.
