Syfy renews 'Magicians' for a third season

April 16 (UPI) -- Syfy says it has ordered a 13-episode, third season of its fantasy drama The Magicians.

Season 3 is to debut on the cable network in 2018.

Starring Jason Ralph, Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Hale Appleman, Arjun Gupta, Summer Bishil, Rick Worthy and Jade Tailor, Season 2 ends Wednesday.

The small-screen adaptation of Lev Grossman's bestselling novels follows Quentin Coldwater and his group of 20-something friends who "must draw upon their novice skills to save the existence of magic," a synopsis said.
