AMC orders fourth season of 'Fear the Walking Dead'

April 15 (UPI) -- AMC says it has renewed Fear the Walking Dead for a fourth season.

Season 3 is to premiere on June 4.

Set on the west coast of the United States, the drama stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Mercedes Mason, Colman Domingo and Danay Garcia as survivors of a zombie apocalypse.

Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg will be Season 4's co-showrunners, while Scott M. Gimple, executive producer and showrunner of The Walking Dead, has been named an executive producer of Fear the Walking Dead.

"We're very excited to continue the journey of Fear The Walking Dead, and truly look forward to working with the talented team of Andrew Chambliss, Ian Goldberg, and Scott Gimple," Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV, said in a statement Friday.

"We are thrilled to be joining Fear The Walking Dead and couldn't be more excited to work alongside the wonderful team at AMC on this show," added Chambliss and Goldberg in their own joint statement.  "We love this universe and are truly honored to have the chance to contribute to it."
