April 3 (UPI) -- Mariska Hargitay delighted fans by reuniting with Christopher Meloni for his birthday over the weekend. The 53-year-old actress shared a sweet photo with her former Law & Order: SVU co-star while celebrating the actor's 56th birthday Friday.

"Happy birthday @chris_meloni PFL," she captioned the picture on Instagram.
Hargitay and Meloni played partners Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: SVU. The actress still stars on the NBC series, while Meloni left the show in 2011 after 12 seasons.
"There was always an unspoken shorthand to what we were doing," the actor said of his dynamic with Hargitay on Inside the Actors Studio in 2016. "There's a lot to be said for that when you're working with someone for 16 hours a day."
"Oh my God, [we were] always cracking up," he added. "Constantly try[ing] to make each other laugh. You know, not in certain scenes, no, but yeah, constantly busting chops."
Hargitay and Meloni previously reunited in February following Valentine's Day, and shared a holiday photo together in December. The actor told Entertainment Weekly in May that he'd like to return to SVU before the series ends.
"I always presented that I'd be open to doing the last few episodes, so that's really all I have to say about that. It's not up to me, I'll just say that. I've said my piece on it," he said.
