March 31 (UPI) -- Selena Gomez was all smiles on the red carpet Thursday. The 24-year-old singer and actress attended the premiere of her Netflix series 13 Reasons Why at the Paramount Pictures studio lot in Los Angeles.
Gomez, who executive produced the show, stunned in an orange Oscar de la Renta strapless minidress. She completed her look with dangling ombré earrings and contrasting blue nail polish.
"Our show @13reasonswhy came out tonight and I couldn't be more overwhelmed with pride and joy," the star wrote on Instagram of the series, which is based on a Jay Asher novel.
"After 7 years of holding onto this book, I couldn't of picked a better time for this message to exist. Jay Asher wrote a beautifully tragic, compelling story and we were lucky to have brought it to life. Thank you to every single soul that put their heart into this passion project," she said.
13 Reasons Why tells the story of Hannah Baker, a high school student who kills herself. The character explains the reasons behind her suicide in 13 cassette tapes addressed to people who contributed to her death.
"It talks a lot about personal accountability and complicity and other things I think young people need to consider," director Tom McCarthy said in the April issue of Elle.
13 Reasons Why stars Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford, and premieres Friday on Netflix.
