March 31 (UPI) -- Kim Kardashian is willing to have surgery in hopes of a third child.

The 36-year-old reality star announced plans to "prepare" her uterus for another pregnancy in a preview for the April 2 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

"I have to go in and prepare my uterus because I've decided that I'm going to try to have one more baby. Isn't that exciting?" Kardashian said in the clip, to the shock of her family.

"I have to have a surgery on my uterus to kind of repair this hole. They need to clean that out and then there's, like, scar tissue. It will still be a really high-risk pregnancy, but I would be able to get pregnant," she added.

Kardashian shares 3-year-old daughter North and 15-month-old son Saint with husband Kanye West. She admitted in the preview that doctors warned her another pregnancy might be dangerous.

"Having more kids is definitely going to be a struggle," the star said in a confessional shot. "I've gone through so much with really bad deliveries that the doctors don't feel that it's safe for me to conceive again myself."

"This surgery is really the one last thing that I can try. I want my kids to have siblings, and I want to know that I did everything I could to make this happen," she explained.

Kardashian experienced preeclampsia and placenta accreta while pregnant with North, and also had complications with Saint. She previously considered using a surrogate for a third child on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

"Using a surrogate is not an unreasonable option," a fertility specialist told the star in Season 12. "If our goal is to grow your family like you want to, then a surrogate makes sense."
