The 36-year-old actress and 38-year-old television personality experienced technical difficulties with their wires while attempting to sing "Up Where We Belong" on The Late Late Show.
Bell effortlessly took flight as planned, while Corden was lifted just inches off the ground. The pair spent the remainder of the song trying to reach each other and perform at an even level in the air.
"That was an absolute disaster! Who is responsible for this? We rehearsed it and rehearsed it and rehearsed it!" Corden blustered after the segment. "Fix it in post!"
Bell shared a story with Corden in the interview about getting in a physical fight with her mom. She recalled an incident from her "rebellious" days where she swore at her mom during an argument.
"She wound her hand back and before she even made contact I was up and I whipped it right back," the star admitted. "We both stopped and [started crying]. I feel really bad."
Bell last starred with husband Dax Shepard in the movie CHiPs, which opened Friday. The actor couldn't help but gush about Bell in an interview with Variety at the film's Los Angeles premiere last week.
"She gives me a great rate," he said of working with his wife. "She's my favorite actor. She's perfect on every take. It's very annoying."
