March 22 (UPI) -- Claire Danes appeared on Ellen on Tuesday and shared with host Ellen Degeneres her thoughts on the perfect ending for her character Carrie Mathison on Homeland.

"I'm always hoping for a little relief for Carrie," Danes tells Degeneres. "There's a lot of crying...there's a lot of reason to cry."

She said that her dream ending would involve the character's daughter.

"I would just like her to kind of...I don't know...play Monopoly with Frannie," Danes says. "One game of Monopoly -- benign, easy going, chill."

"That's boring for us watch to play Monopoly," Degeneres jokes. "This is the worst episode ever of Homeland."

"That's always my little wish for her is some domestic bliss," the 37-year-old actress adds.

"That's hilarious. The finale should just be you playing monopoly for an hour," Degeneres says. "That's it. We're all thinking something's gonna happen."

"I think she earned that," Danes says, laughing. "You could give that to her."

Homeland airs at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
