March 14 (UPI) -- Filming has begun in Northern Ireland on the second season of ITV's The Frankenstein Chronicles, starring Sean Bean.
Set in 1830s London, the six-episode, next installment in the re-imagining of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein will see Bean return as police officer and former soldier John Marlott.
"No longer a mere mortal, Marlott's purpose is to seek revenge on Lord Daniel Hervey [played by Ed Stoppard] for taking his life, and to redeem his soul after being wrongly convicted and hanged for murder," a press release said.
The Season 2 ensemble also includes Laurence Fox, Maeve Dermody, Richie Campbell, Robbie Gee, Ryan Sampson, Tom Ward and Vanessa Kirby.
