TCM to air 48-hour marathon of Robert Osborne's interviews

March 8 (UPI) -- Turner Classic Movies says it will honor the legacy of its late presenter, Robert Osborne, with a 48-hour marathon of highlights from his career.

Dozens of the most memorable celebrity interviews and film introductions from Osborne's 23-year tenure at the network will re-air March 18-19. Among the luminaries he will be seen chatting with at length are Debbie Reynolds, Liza Minnelli, Betty Hutton, Ernest Borgnine, Peter O'Toole, Eva Marie Saint, Kim Novak, Alan Arkin and Luise Rainer.

"Robert was embraced by devoted fans who saw him as a trusted expert and friend," TCM General Manager Jennifer Dorian said in a statement. "His calming presence, gentlemanly style, encyclopedic knowledge of film history, fervent support for film preservation and highly personal interviewing style all combined to make him a truly world-class host."

Osborne died this week at the age of 84.
