Feb. 24 (UPI) -- British actress Ophelia Lovibond is to reprise her role of Kitty Winter in two, upcoming episodes of Elementary.

"Holmes' former protégé, Kitty Winter, returns to New York after a three-year absence to warn him that a killer is eliminating everyone involved with a case they worked on together in London, and they're the next targets," CBS teased in a press release Thursday. "As Sherlock, Kitty, Joan and the NYPD join forces to find the perpetrator, Watson discovers Kitty has a life-changing secret."

Lovibond will begin her guest arc on the contemporary dramedy March 5. She was last seen in Season 3 when she fled the United States after confronting and disfiguring the man who kidnapped and raped her years earlier.

Now in its fifth season, the show stars Jonny Lee Miller as brilliant, private detective Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as his partner Joan Watson, as well as Aidan Quinn and Jon Michael Hill, who play their friends and collaborators in the New York Police Department. The series was inspired by the Victorian-era mysteries of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
