James Corden battles Adam Lambert in Queen sing-off

Feb. 3 (UPI) -- James Corden challenged Adam Lambert to a front man battle Thursday on The Late Late Show to see who would be a better singer for Queen.

Corden threw down the challenge following the announcement that Queen + Adam Lambert would be teaming up once again for a new 25-city North American summer tour in 2017.

"In my head growing up I thought that I would always make a great frontman for Queen," the late night host explained to his audience. "I'm not saying I would be a better frontman than [Lambert]; I'm just saying I would be a better frontman than him."

The rivals were then joined by Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor to perform a number of Queen songs.

First Lambert sang "We Will Rock You," which Corden referred to as "amateur hour" before launching into a performance of "Don't Stop Me Now."

"Look at [May's] face, he knows he made a mistake," Corden joked after performing. Once Lambert unleashed "Another One Bites the Dust" however, the comedian admitted defeat.

"Okay, okay, you're a better frontman than me," Corden said before performing a "Somebody to Love" duet with Lambert

Queen + Adam Lambert, will begin hitting the road starting June 23 at the Gila River Arena in Phoenix before wrapping things up at the Toyota Center in Houston on August 5. Tickets go on sale Feb. 3 via Liv Nation.
