LOS ANGELES, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Millie Bobby Brown says she and Maddie Ziegler have become best friends since meeting in 2016.

The 12-year-old Stranger Things actress recalled her disastrous first sleepover with the 14-year-old Dance Moms alum on Monday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"She's my best friend, actually. We are very, very good friends. We've only known each other for about five months now," Brown told host Ellen DeGeneres. "I'm such a big fan of Dance Moms and just her in general -- she's so inspiring to me."

"When I met her, I started crying," she admitted. "She private messaged me on Twitter. I'd never been on a sleepover before ... so she was like, 'Do you want to come over?' So I was like, 'Sure, okay!' So I go over and at like 3 o'clock in the morning the fire alarm comes on. We all had to get rushed out of her apartment building and I'm crying because I'm like, 'My first sleepover's ruined!'"

"We've been though a lot," the star said. "We're really good friends and we text each other every day."

Brown previously discussed her friendship with Ziegler in the Winter issue of Dazed magazine. She revealed in the interview that she spent her sleepover with Ziegler dancing around the star's room.

"We just had a sleepover," the actress said. "It was funny, because she videotaped me and I was dancing around her room singing 'The Greatest' and she was like, 'Millie, shh -- stop it!' because I tried to dance like her and I'm really not good."

Brown plays Eleven on the Netflix series Stranger Things, which will return for a second season this year. Ziegler starred on the Lifetime series Dance Moms for six seasons and is also known for her collaborations with Sia.
