LOS ANGELES, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Ellen Pompeo and husband Chris Ivery appear to have welcomed a new baby.

The 47-year-old actress and 49-year-old music producer sparked speculation of a third child after they were seen hiking with an infant in tow Wednesday in Los Angeles, Hollywood Life reported.

Pompeo and Ivery were spotted in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles with their 7-year-old daughter, Stella. The actress held hands with Stella as Ivery carried the baby in a front-facing harness.

The Grey's Anatomy star and Ivery married in 2007 and also share 2-year-old daughter Sienna. Pompeo admitted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! after Sienna's birth that she purposely kept her daughter's birth a secret.

"She was born two months ago," the star revealed at the time. "The covert thing is kind of fun. This baby was born via surrogate, so I felt an obligation to keep the surrogate's privacy. That was of utmost importance to me."

"This is an incredible thing to do with your life, to give the gift of carrying someone's child, so I am forever grateful and feel very blessed and grateful to her -- she who will remain anonymous," she added.

Pompeo is best known for playing Dr. Meredith Grey on Grey's Anatomy, which will return from mid-season break Jan. 19. She admitted in the Aug. 8 issue of People that she stuck with the long-running ABC series because of her age.

"I decided that I would stay on Grey's and be grateful and try to ride it out for as long as I could," the actress said. "And I am very happy that I made the decision to stay. It's only gotten better with time."
