NEW YORK, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Savannah Guthrie says she had a "great" first Christmas with her newborn son.

The 45-year-old Today show anchor shared details on Tuesday's episode about her first holiday with 3-week-old Charley, 2-year-old daughter Vale and husband Michael Feldman.

"It was great," Guthrie told her co-hosts. "I think this is the first Christmas [Vale] got into it and learned about Santa. She only asked for one thing from Santa, and it was a cake. So, Santa tried to come and put it together."

"We had fun. Charley got a rattle and some pacifiers in his stocking, and we all had matching pajamas," she added. "I just felt like all my gifts were in my arms, not under the tree, and I just have not stopped feeling so much gratitude, and it's just been so fun."

Guthrie also celebrated her 45th birthday Tuesday. She marked the occasion by sharing a photo on Instagram of Charley and Vale in their matching red and white striped pajamas.

"Happiest birthday I can remember. Thanks for all the sweet wishes," the star wrote.

Guthrie and Feldman married in 2014, and welcomed Vale the same year. The television personality gave birth to Charley on Dec. 8, who is named after her late father and Feldman's grandfather.

"We are so grateful. Blessings overflow. Along with tears of joy," she tweeted at the time.

Guthrie was made co-anchor of Today in 2012, and recently renewed her contract with NBC for multiple more years, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Katie Couric will fill in for the star for a week in January while she's on maternity leave.
