LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Pretty Little Liars announced a premiere date for its highly anticipated final season Friday.

The Freeform series revealed on its official Twitter page that it will return to television April 18, 2017.

"THIS IS NOT A DRILL. April 18th 2017. #PLLEndGame," the show captioned a photo with stars Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell and Troian Bellisario.

Freeform added in a press release that the final season will include a wedding for one of the main characters. The show will come to a close with a two-hour episode, followed by a one-hour tell-all special.

Bellisario, who plays Spencer Hastings, told AOL in an interview this week that wrapping filming on Pretty Little Liars was a "really intense" experience. Mitchell, who portrays Emily Fields, posted an emotional goodbye video to the show earlier this month.

"Sad, anxious, excited, terrified, inspired, gratified, nervous, unsure, proud, upset, accomplished, relieved, devastated, lucky: I didn't know it was possible to feel so much at once, yet I sit here with all my feelings. It feels like the last day of school with just an extra bit of emptiness," she said.
