Rumer Willis joins 'Empire' Season 3 in recurring role

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Rumer Willis has signed on to star in Season 3 of Fox's hit music drama Empire.

According to Deadline, the former Dancing with the Stars champion will be appearing on the show in a recurring role as Tory Ash, a talented singer and songwriter who collaborates with Jamal (Jussie Smollett) as he works on his most important musical project yet.

As Willis' character attempts to make a crossover comeback, her volatile attitude is said to cause ripple effects throughout the series.

Willis joins a star-studded list of guest-stars who have appeared as part of Season 3 including Mariah Carey, Taye Diggs, French Montana and Birdman, among others.

The 28-year-old daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore has previously appeared on television in 90210 and Hawaii Five-0 with film credits in What Lies Ahead, The House Bunny and upcoming musical Hello, Again.

Empire's winter finale is scheduled to air on Dec. 14. It will return for the second half of Season 3 starting March 22.
