HBO renews 'Westworld,' 'Divorce' and 'Insecure' for second seasons

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- HBO says it has renewed for second seasons its new series Westworld, Divorce and Insecure.

The announcement was made Monday by Casey Bloys, president of HBO Programming.

All three shows premiered on the subscription network last month.

"I am thrilled to announce the pickup of our three fall series, all of which have distinctive, original voices," Bloys said in a statement. "Critics and viewers alike have welcomed Westworld and Insecure, as well as the return of Sarah Jessica Parker to the network after 12 years with Divorce."

Westworld is billed as "a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin, exploring a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged." It stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jimmi Simpson, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Ben Barnes, Simon Quarterman, Angela Sarafyan, Luke Hemsworth and Clifton Collins, Jr.

Divorce is a contemporary comedy featuring Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Haden Church as a couple whose marriage is falling apart.

Created by Larry Wilmore and Issa Rae, Insecure is a relationship comedy starring Rae, Jay Ellis, Yvonne Orji and Lisa Joyce.
