"The world is vast and full of wonders. So on Friday, the 13th of January, please... watch something else," Netflix wrote on its official Twitter page.

"It's @Unfortunate and coming to Netflix Jan 13. The incredibly handsome villain Count Olaf is played by yours truly," Harris added on his own account.

A Series of Unfortunate Events is based on the children's book series of the same name. The novels are penned by American author Daniel Handler, who writes under the pseudonym Lemony Snicket. Snicket serves as the narrator in the books.

Paramount Pictures previously adapted the series as a 2004 film, with Jude Law as Snicket and Jim Carrey as Olaf. The story follows the orphaned siblings Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire as they contend with Olaf, their murderous relative.
