LOS ANGELES, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Married, country music superstars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are to join the singing competition series The Voice this month as key advisers, NBC announced Tuesday.

"Who better to help guide our artists at this critical point than the first couple of country music, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw," Paul Telegdy, president of the alternative and reality group for NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. "Our artists and our viewers will love hearing from two of the most talented and highly-decorated performers working in the music industry today."

"I think having the perspective of performing live in many different venues, from clubs to stadiums, will help us in working with the Voice artists this season," added Hill. "It's important that they be able to connect with their audience."

"I really like to dig into songs and how they need to be presented in a live environment," remarked McGraw. "I'm looking forward to working with the coaches to help the artists reach their potential."
