LOS ANGELES, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- James Corden fulfilled his dream of bringing back a classic boy band Tuesday when he performed alongside the Backstreet Boys on The Late Late Show.

"I care about this more than maybe anything else on the planet: We are bringing back boy bands," Corden said before introducing the Backstreet Boys for a surprise performance.

"I'm talking proper boy bands. Five guys together: I'm talking about the cute one, the funny one, the nice one, the other one and the maverick who refused to play by the rules – all living together in some weird mansion in Orlando," he continued.

"I'm aware that boy bands haven't gone away, right? But now, they just stand onstage wearing skinny jeans and Vans sneakers – and some of them even have the audacity to pick up instruments. That is not what I want in a boy band. I want matching outfits, synchronized dancing and way-over-budget music videos."

The Backstreet Boys, consisting of Nick Carter, A.J. McLean, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell and Howie Dorough, were then introduced amongst a cloud of smoke, flashing lights and a cheering audience.

As their performance of "Everybody" got underway, Corden then jumped onstage to take part in all their choreographed dance moves.

"Am I sexual?" Corden sang as part of the track's lyrics.

Recently, it was announced that the Backstreet Boys would begin to play a Las Vegas residency in 2017.
