SEATTLE, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Amazon Studios says it has ordered three new series for 2017.

"These pilots were vast in scope, disruptive in tone, challenging in story and sometimes even funny," Joe Lewis, head of half-hour series for Amazon Studios, said in a statement Tuesday. "It's rewarding to see customers embrace them in such a huge way. We can't wait to premiere these series next year on Prime Video."

Among the new offerings is I Love Dick, which is based on the feminist novel about a couple's marital struggles in the artistic and academic community of Marfa, Texas. It stars Kathryn Hahn, Griffin Dunne and Kevin Bacon.

Jean-Claude Van Johnson follows martial-arts film star Jean-Claude Van Damme as he operates under the alias of Jean-Claude Van Johnson as "the most dangerous undercover private contractor in the world;" and The Tick is a superhero tale based on the comic book of the same name. Its ensemble includes Peter Serafinowicz, Jackie Earle Haley and Brendan Hines.
