Jake T. Austin is the first cast-off for Season 23 of 'Dancing with the Stars'

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Actor Jake T. Austin and his professional partner Jenna Johnson became the first cast-offs for Season 23 of Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night.

"It was so much fun. I had a blast. Learning from Jenna was the opportunity of a lifetime. This was an incredible experience. You guys are the best. Thank you to everyone watching," Austin said upon learning his fate.

Still in the running for the coveted, mirror-ball trophy are Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and Allison Holker; Marilu Henner and Derek Hough; Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy; James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess; Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold; Terra Jolé and Sasha Farber; Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko; Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke; Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev; Rick Perry and Emma Slater; Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy; and Vanilla Ice and Witney Carson.

The ABC competition series features Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews as co-hosts, while the judges' panel includes Len Goodman, Julianne Hough, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

No one was eliminated from the competition in last week's season premiere.
