'Game of Thrones,' Rami Malek, Tatiana Maslany take top drama Emmys

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- HBO's blood-soaked, medieval-fantasy series Game of Thrones was declared Best Drama at the Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles Sunday night.

Rami Malek scored the prize for Best Actor in a Drama for his portrayal of a brilliant, computer hacker with multiple-personality disorder in USA Network's Mr. Robot, while Tatiana Maslany earned the honor for Best Actress in a Drama for playing numerous clones on BBC America's Orphan Black.

No-show Maggie Smith won the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her work in the PBS soap Downton Abbey and the also absent Ben Mendelsohn garnered the prize for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Netflix's Florida thriller Bloodline.
