NEW YORK, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Television personality Billy Bush officially joined the Today show as a co-anchor Monday morning.

"With Natalie Morales making her move to Los Angeles to serve as our West Coast anchor -- and to tend to her Access Hollywood hosting duties -- and with Sunday Today and Morning Joe anchor Willie Geist passing one of his 'many hats,' we had a big spot to fill at the Today's Take table, and Billy has pulled up a chair," the NBC program's website explained.

The Take is the third hour of the show, hosted by Al Roker and Tamron Hall.

Bush previously served as a Today guest co-host and contributor, helping out during the show's recent coverage of the Summer Olympics in Rio.
