Ariana Grande, Kristin Chenoweth, Jennifer Hudson appear in teaser clip for 'Hairspray Live!'

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Derek Hough, Kristin Chenoweth, Martin Short and Harvey Fierstein appear in their 1960s-era costumes in NBC's teaser for Hairspray Live!

The network released the 30-second clip Friday. The movie musical is to premiere in December.

The video looks back at NBC's past, recent live-musical events Peter Pan and The Sound of Music, and offers a brief glimpse of its next big show, set to the Hairspray anthem "You Can't Stop the Beat."

The ensemble will also include Rosie O'Donnell, Sean Hayes, Dove Cameron, Garrett Clayton and Andrea Martin, as well as newcomer Maddie Baillio.
