LONDON, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- True Blood and The Bastard Executioner alum Stephen Moyer has landed the lead role in Season 2 of ITV's anthology series Safe House.

Produced by Eleventh Hour Films, the show will begin filming later this month in Wales, Liverpool and Manchester, with director Marc Evans at the helm. It will feature a different cast and crime story from Season 1.

Season 2 will include four, hour-long episodes in which Moyer will play "charismatic yet impulsive ex-police officer Tom Brook, who runs a police safe house, which stands by the edge of the sea on the rugged coastline of Anglesey, a wild and beautiful sanctuary," a press release said.

Zoe Tapper will play his partner Sam in the series, which was written by Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone. Other ensemble members are Dervla Kirwan, Jason Watkins, Sunetra Sarker, Ashley Walters, Sacha Parkinson and Joel MacCormack.

"We're delighted to be working on a brand new series of Safe House with Eleventh Hour Films," Victoria Fea, ITV's controller of drama, said in a statement Tuesday. "The format lends itself beautifully to creating a suspenseful drama with a new set of characters in a new safe house. As always, Ed and Tracey's scripts are gripping and compelling with twists and turns that shock and take you by surprise."
