Kim Kardashian was once cut from 'The Hills'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Kim Kardashian tried her hand at The Hills long before she was a household name.

The reality star, now 35, filmed a cameo for The Hills Season 3 that was ultimately cut from the MTV series. The unseen footage aired for the first time Tuesday on the network's special The Hills: That Was Then, This is Now.

The clip shows Kardashian, then 26, visit The Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt at their apartment. Kardashian, who was relatively unknown at the time, can be heard admiring the couple's pet jellyfish.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star was introduced to Montag and Pratt by her then-stepbrother, Brody Jenner. Jenner, the son of Caitlyn Jenner and Linda Thompson, starred on five seasons of The Hills.

Kardashian filmed the cameo in September 2007, just months after her sex tape with ex-boyfriend Ray J leaked. Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which premiered that October, is now in its 12th season.

The Hills: That Was Then, This is Now marked the 10th anniversary of the show's premiere. Host Lauren Conrad, who starred on five seasons, spilled plenty of secrets in the special, including that she had "zero chemistry" with Jenner, her on-screen boyfriend.

"He was my friend. I enjoyed spending time with him, but it just always felt forced," she said. "We knew the cameras were making it look like more than it was."
