LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Archie Panjabi still looks fondly upon her time spent on The Good Wife despite exiting the show after Season 6.

"I loved playing the role of Kalinda," the actress said of her former boot-wearing character, private investigator Kalinda Sharma during the Television Critics Association's summer press tour on Tuesday.

"I had such a great time on [Good Wife]. It's something that's very special to me," she continued before getting into the drama surrounding her exit amid reports of her strained relationship with the show's star, Julianna Margulies.

"In terms of anything that happened on The Good Wife, I think it's only respectful for it to stay on The Good Wife," the Emmy award-winner explained."It was time for me for many reasons to unzip the boots and step into another show."

Now Panjabi has joined NBC's crime drama Blindspot for Season 2 in a new recurring role. "I've always loved to do stuff that is completely out of my comfort zone. And I have always wanted to do an action-based TV show," she mentioned to The Hollywood Reporter. "So when the inquiry came in for Blindspot, my first reaction was, 'Oh gosh, I'd be terrified to do something like that,' which is why I finally decided I wanted to do it."

According to Blindspot executive producer Martin Gero, Panjabi's character will work "as a soothing mom" for the rest of the team and help bring them back together after splitting up at the end of Season 1.

Panjabi pointed out that her new character shares similarities to Kalinda, including her penchant for knee high boots. "She is tough. She is tenacious. She's wild. She's unpredictable," she said.
