UNIVERSAL CITY , Calif., Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Descendants co-star Dove Cameron and Liv and Maddie alum Garrett Clayton are to play Amber Von Tussle and Link Larkin in NBC's upcoming Hairspray Live!
The telecast is to air Dec. 7.
Cameron and Clayton join already announced cast members Harvey Fierstein, Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande, Kristin Chenoweth, Martin Short, Derek Hough and newcomer Maddie Baillio.
"Hairspray Live! marks a reunion between Cameron and Chenoweth, who teamed together on Disney's TV movie Descendants," NBC said in a press release. "In the film, directed by Emmy Award-winner Kenny Ortega, Cameron played Mal with Chenoweth portraying her mom. The two will have the same relationship in Hairspray Live!"
