Katharine McPhee, 'Scorpion' co-star Elyes Gabel split

LOS ANGELES, July 26 (UPI) -- Katherine McPhee and Scorpion co-star Elyes Gabel have called it quits.

The 32-year-old actress and 33-year-old actor, who play Paige Dineen and Walter O'Brien on the CBS series, split last month after nearly two years of dating, news outlets reported Monday.

"It was an amicable split," a source told Just Jared. "They're still friends and work together almost every day. They still love each other but just couldn't make things work."

"Elyes is great, but they had their issues, like any couple does," an insider added to Entertainment Tonight. "They split on good terms."

McPhee and Gabel met through Scorpion and were first linked in August 2014 when they were spotted kissing between takes on set. The actress had filed for divorce from Nick Cokas a few months previous and finalized her divorce in February.

"After six years of marriage, and having been separated for the past year, Katharine McPhee has filed for a dissolution of marriage from Nick Cokas," the star's rep said in May 2014. "The two have an amicable relationship and will remain friends."

McPhee came to fame after competing on American Idol Season 5 and last released the album Hysteria in September. She is also known for playing Karen Cartwright on the NBC series Smash.
