LOS ANGELES, July 16 (UPI) -- A 15-second teaser for Descendants 2, the second TV movie about the teenage sons and daughters of Disney's most infamous villains, is now online. The sequel is expected to premiere on the Disney Channel in 2017.

Friday's 15-second YouTube clip featured someone with octopus tentacles watching several characters through a watery crystal ball and cackling.
The network previously announced China Anne McClain has joined the cast as the daughter of sea witch Ursula.
"Just when you thought 'Happily Ever After' had come to the land of Auradon, Descendants 2 turns the page to reveal a whole new level of mystery and surprise," Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide, said in a statement announcing the project last month.
Kenny Ortega is to return as director, executive producer and choreographer. Also coming back for the follow-up will be cast members Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart, Sofia Carson and Mitchell Hope.
